Lisa is a fair professor. The class isn't too bad. You have weekly homework assignments, two midterms, and a final. Her multiple-multiple choice questions can be sometimes tricky but not too terrible. I think it's more of trying to understand the information that got me. The textbook is helpful but can be wordy. Lisa's lectures are okay except she goes over the more general ideas that are already easy to understand. Lisa and the class got better as the semester went on, especially when we got to nanomaterials. She seems better suited to teach about nano.

Lisa is one of the best teachers I've had this year. She's very enjoyable and humorous. She has some great stories to tell about her career, and she's very passionate about the subject. The class itself isn't hard, but you must go to the lectures! I missed one lecture, and it took me a bit to catch up, because Lisa explains the subject much better than the book does. Homework sets aren't too bad, but they make you think. I'd recommend this class to anyone needing to fulfill their science elective, or just someone who want to learn something interesting.

Lisa is an good lecturer and a fun person. Reading the book is very helpful, although you will end up learning more than you need to know. The homework help you understand the material, but is harder than the tests. The tests are relatively straightforward as long as you really understand the material. Not a tough class overall, even for a non-science major. Knowing some Chemistry and Physics does help, however.

Good class for engineers overall no matter who you get as a professor.

Lisa seems really strict at first, but she's actually a nice person who's willing to help you if you seek her out. I recommend that you do the reading before she lectures on the material, so that you can follow along easier in class. She doesn't check that you do the reading, though. However, homework sets are graded, and sometimes they can take a while to do, so definitely start on them early so you have time to ask questions if you get confused. Don't fool around in this class - definitely pay attention during lectures!

Professor Lisa is a great person and is very very very nice and is willing to help. However, this is one of the courses for which you HAVE TO have completed the reading if you want to understand what's going on in the class. (She doesn't check if you read the textbook or anything,but I'd urge you to read the textbook. Otherwise, you will need to read all the chapters right before a test.) Homework problems are not hard. I liked having homework because it made me stay on track. The online class does not require that you do the problems. I would rather have someone grading homework; otherwise this course is very easy to fall behind.

This course is difficult, but that is to be expected. Lisa is a tough but fair instructor. I have to admit, she really scared me with her no-nonsense demeanor, but I grew to like her as the semester progressed. Make sure you do the reading and pay attention, though, because she'll get on you if you ask a stupid question! All in all, though, it was a good class and I'm glad I took it. (And even though she scared me, I still learned a lot from her and actually enjoyed class!)

My teacher was very enthusiastic about the subject but because it was so early in the morning I could not pay attention during class and as a result went to TA sessions for homework assistance. It begins relatively easy and gets a little harder (our class average for the first test was above a 90, so they tried to make future tests harder). Overall it was pretty easy, although I had to relearn stuff for the final. Don't get intimidated by what the material or the homework sounds like, the basic concepts behind everything is quite simple, you just have to plug stuff into the right formula and worry about your arithmetic.
